Manchester offers a range of funding opportunities for doctoral students in Jewish Studies, including John Rylands Research Institute Studentships, President’s Doctoral Scholar awards, School of Arts, Languages and Cultures studentships, as well as AHRC and ESRC studentships. Supported subjects include Israel Studies, ancient Jewish Studies, Bible/Dead Sea Scrolls, medieval Jewish Studies, Jewish/non-Jewish relations, modern Jewish thought and theology and Holocaust Studies. In order to be eligible for funding, applications to the PhD programme must be received by 16 January 2015 (ESRC) or 23 January 2015 (most others), while separate funding applications are due by 2 February 2015 (ESRC) or 13 February 2015 (most others).
