JOBS: Fellowships at the Center for Jewish History 2017-18

The Center for Jewish History offers a range of fellowships for senior scholars, postdoctoral scholars, graduate students, and undergraduates to conduct original research in the humanities, including but not limited to the fields of Jewish studies, Russian and East European studies, American studies and Germanic studies, as well as musicology, linguistics, philosophy, anthropology, sociology and history. In residence at the Center for a period of 10 to 12 months, fellows have the opportunity to explore the vast collections of the Center’s partners – American Jewish Historical Society, American Sephardi Federation, Leo Baeck Institute, Yeshiva University Museum, YIVO Institute for Jewish Research. Preference is given to projects that make use of more than one partner collection.  
NEH Fellowship for Senior Scholars (Deadline: December 1, 2017)
  • Stipend of up to $50,400
  • Open to U.S. citizens, as well as non-citizens who have lived in the U.S. for the three years immediately preceding the application deadline
Prins Foundation Postdoctoral and Early Career Fellowship for Emigrating Scholars (Deadline: January 16, 2017)
  • Intended for scholars from outside North America who seek a permanent teaching and research position in North America
  • Stipend of up to $35,000
Graduate Research Fellowship (Deadline: February 2, 2017)
  • Supports doctoral candidates interested in using the archive and library collections of the Center’s partners
  • Stipend of $17,500 with possible relocation funding
  • Must have completed all course requirements but the dissertation
