Jewish Cultural Centre and National Library “Kadimah”

Kadimah is a Jewish cultural centre in Melbourne that hosts many cultural events such as concerts, lectures, film viewings, commemorations, a family Sofvokh and weekly Wednesday Clubs for senior members of the community. There is also a Yiddish reading circle which meets regularly.

The centre also has a library:

"The "Kadimah" National Library holds the largest collection of Yiddish books, periodicals, reference, audio and video materials in Australia. Besides the Yiddish there is also a sizeable collection of Judaica and Holocaust books and references in English, Hebrew, Russian, Polish etc. The library also contains the Yasha Sher Reading Room, the special Bono Weiner Collection and the Moishe Rabinowicz Multimedia Research Centre. The library also supports the Yosef Gilligich Foundation and shares online catalogue systems with the "Makor" Jewish Community Library."

A shot history of Kadimah can be read here.
