Every three years since 1998 the Théâtre en l'Air- der LufTeater in Strasbourg organises a Yiddish Summer University. After 1998, 2001, 2004 and 2007 the 2010 edition will take place from 19-30 July in Strasbourg.

The program offers Yiddish courses on three levels:

• first level: reading, writing, conversation
• second level: grammar, reading of Yiddish texts
• third level: women's poetry in Yiddish literature

In addition to the Yiddish language courses the Lufteater also offers an elaborate Yiddish cultural program during the summer university with workshops, seminars, films, excursions and expositions.
