YIVO-Bard Winter Program on Ashkenazi Civilization

YIVO's Winter Program on Ashkenazi Civilization is back! This year, we're outdoing ourselves by offering ten intensive, three-week courses, with topics including Yiddish children's literature across the globe; how gender affected Jewish social and religious life in Eastern Europe; the influence of Jewish Daily Forward editor Abraham Cahan; the ethnography of Jewish neighborhoods in New York; and the history of the Catholic Church's attitudes toward Jews.

We're pleased to welcome to the program distinguished instructors old and new, including Adam Kirsch, Magda Teter, Rakhmiel Peltz, Samuel Kassow, Miriam Udel and many more.
