Uriel Weinreich Program in Yiddish Language, Literature, and Culture 2013

The YIVO-Bard Institute's Summer Language Program offers peerless instruction in the Yiddish language and an in-depth exploration of the literature and culture of Ashkenazi Jews.

Our core program offers intensive, 4-credit language courses at four levels: Elementary, Intermediate I and II, or Advanced. Classes meet Monday through Friday, with Sunday excursions and special events. Students will develop proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and cultural literacy.

This year, we are excited to offer afternoon and evening electives on Yiddish history, literature, theater, and food culture. Students will have many opportunities to pursue research in YIVO's unparalleled library and archives. Classes will be held at Brooklyn College and the YIVO Institute.
