The Prague Centre for Jewish Studies now invites applications for a summer school on Old Yiddish literature. The series of workshops will be conducted by Dr. Claudia Rosenzweig (Bar-Ilan University) and is meant to serve as an introduction to Old Yiddish literature, in particular in relation to the cultural history of the Jews in Prague in the Early Modern Era.

We are delighted to announce an important international Conference which is taking place as part of the European Year of Cultural Heritage in 2018. Urban Jewish Heritage: Presence and Absence is being held from 3-7 September 2018 in the World Heritage City of Krakow, Poland.  The Conference will bring together academics, planners, policy makers and community leaders to examine and discuss the pasts, presents and futures for towns and cities with Jewish Heritage, particularly in Europe.

The annual Symposium for Yiddish Studies in Germany is organized by the Yiddish programs at the universities of Trier and Dusseldorf.

You are invited to submit abstracts for 20 min. papers until April 1, 2018. All fields of research within Yiddish Studies will be considered. Interdisciplinary papers with a connection to Yiddish Studies are welcome. Proposals for sessions of 3 or 4 papers have to be submitted together with abstracts for the individual papers. Papers may be presented in German or Yiddish.
